Today we're featuring First Place Inc. Pay It Forward scholar Reinhard Suarez! He sent us some awesome pics and a journal entry about his 2015 US Work and Travel experience. Here's what he had to say:

"This week, our Visa sponsor AAG conducted a cultural activity here in San Antonio, Texas. We got to meet other Filipinos also working here! Most of the participants are also from Six Flags Fiesta Texas like me.

It was a very fun-filled and amazing day, because we toured two world-famous destinations here in San Antonio: the Alamo and the River Walk. The first destination that we went to was the Alamo. I thought it was a big structure because that’s what I saw in pictures, but in reality it was the opposite. The structure was not that big as I was expecting, but the details of its historic features made it magnificent.

Cameras aren’t allowed inside the Alamo, so only our naked eyes witnessed the creative and unique antiques found there. What amazed me the most were the paintings on the wall, which were painted approximately 300 years ago!

The next location we went to was the most famous attraction in San Antonio, the River Walk. Indeed it was such a nice place. The scenery was just fantastic! It’s a long river which goes along the many streets of downtown San Antonio.

The festive atmosphere of San Antonio revolves around this area, because there are a lot of restaurants alongside the river. Another big local attraction is the River Center Mall, which caters to visitors from around the globe."
